Maintenance 2021

This year maintenance starts early... Last year I had to replace my tires as they had dried up (tires originated from 1994!).

And with the first moment the car left our garage, we had discovered a very small oil leakage. So, it was time for general maintenance and resolving the oil leakage of the automatic transmission.

On Tuesday 09 March, the car went to the garage of Pascal Vanoorbeek. Direct reason was the small leakage of automatic transmission oil.

You can see the rubber gasket that most probably is the culprit of the oil leakage: the rubber might have dried out as the automatic transmission is clean from oil above the rubber ring and wet below...

As you can see, the air filter is not that bad, so could survive another year. But my garage owner decided to replace it anyway.

So, following items have been replaced:

  • Air filter
  • Engine oil and filter
  • Ignition distributor
  • Spark plugs
  • Automatic transmission oil, filter and rubber gasket

Also the fuel/air rate has been adapted for better combustion.

There goes the 'old' oil
The old oil filter
The ignition distributor - 8 cylinders for sure!
The ignition distributor rotor. See the wear...
The old spark plugs have been replaced...
